Early Bird Deadline is TODAY!

There are 6 hours left until the Early Bird application deadline!

This year, Makers who submit by the regular deadline (June 15th) will have the opportunity to identify their preferred booth location, with Early Bird applicants receiving priority. As an added bonus, those who submit their application by midnight tonight will be entered into our Early Bird raffle for the chance to win a $100 Amazon gift card.

So far, we have 7 Early Bird Maker applicants: Adler Teens, Chicago Children’s Museum, CodeCreate, FrankenToyMobile, LevelUP, People’s Gas Youth Ambassadors, and Science Fist.

We look forward to seeing you and your awesome projects at the faire!

Visit Our Friends from the Northside

The Chicago Southside Mini Maker Faire is still 3 months away BUT this Saturday (May 2, 2015) our friends at the Chicago Northside Mini Maker Faire will be hosting their 4th annual event at Carl Schurz High School (3601 N Milwaukee). Stop by between 10am and 4pm to visit with their large collection of Makers.

They have an exciting group of exhibitors coming out this year. Some of them include walking robots, squishy circuits, magnetic circuitry, and interactive art! It is free to attend and guaranteed to be a fun time for the entire family so invite a friend or two.

As we enter the final month before the 2nd Annual Chicago Southside Mini Maker Faire, We are proud to announce the winner of our Early Bird raffle for a $100 Amazon gift card. As a thank you for submitting their applications through the Call for Makers application by the Early Bird deadline (June 16th), each Maker was entered into a raffle. JOHN MOOSEMILLER!!! Congratulations!

 

John Moosemiller is a co-founder of Project LEAD (Learn Everything Applying DIY), an Illinois-based non-profit organization that helps encourage and foster an interest in STEM fields through online content and hands-on experiences. Though he is a Chemical Engineering student at the University of Houston, his interests are in electronics and software development.

 

John Moosemiller is no rookie to participating in Chicago’s Mini Maker Faires having participated in both the Chicago Southside and Northside Mini Maker Faires in 2013. On August 2nd, John and Project LEAD will be guiding faire attendants through the world of micro-computing, allowing them to manipulate different codes and experience final 3D-printed products.
